Directions to Millfield’s Farm Cottages

Millfield’s Farm Cottages are idyllically located in the heart of the Dove Valley and our cottages and barn conversions enjoy spectacular views of Carsington Water.  Situated in the East Midlands, the accommodation is easilly accessible from all of the major arterial roads and we have provided easy driving directions below to facilitate your journey.

Directions from the North via M1:

Leave the M1 at junction 28, take the A38 to Ripley and then the A610 to Ambergate, the A6 to Belper, A517 to Ashbourne. Just after travelling through the village of Hulland Ward, turn right at the village hall for Carsington Water. Follow this sign for approximately a mile and turn right still following the brown signs to Carsington Water. About ¾ mile down this road you will see signs for Holiday Lets on your left hand side opposite a caravan park. You have arrived at Millfields Farm!
Come down the drive, as you come through the gates, bear off to your right. Carry on down this drive, until you come passed the stables/house on your left. Bear round to left and your car park is in front of you along with the cottages.

 

Directions from the south via M1:

Leave the M1 at junction 23A. Follow the A50 towards Uttoxeter/Alton Towers. At Sudbury, leave the A50 for the A515 and travel for approximately 8 miles until you reach the large roundabout entering Ashbourne. At the large roundabout continue straight on, over a mini roundabout and straight on through a set of traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights turn left, sign posted Wirksworth B5035. Follow these sign posts to Wirksworth/Carsington Water until you reach Kniveton village. You will travel down a hill into the village , continue passed the Red Lion pub on your left and the church on your right. Pass through Kniveton village and continue straight on climbing up the hill the other side. Continue up the hill and round a corner out of Kniveton village. Carry on along this road until you see signs for Carsington Reservoir on your right, just prior to the Knockerdown Pub, turn right towards Carsington Reservoir. Carry on past the Carsington Reservoir visitor centre on your left, travel along the straight road past the Reservoir on your left, until you see a car park on your left called Millfields Car Park. Go past the car park until you see a caravan park on your left, Millfields Farm is opposite on the right hand side.

You will see the signs for Holiday Cottages either side of the drive. Go down the drive, as you come through the gates, bear off to your right. Carry on down this drive, until you come past the stables/house on your left. Bear round to your left and the car park is in front of you, along with the cottages.

 

Directions from the M6:

Leave the M6 at junction 15; follow the signs for A50 towards Derby. At Sudbury turn off the A50 onto the A515 Ashbourne and continue for approximately 8 miles until you reach the large roundabout entering Ashbourne. At the large roundabout continue straight on, over a mini roundabout and straight on through a set of traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights turn left, sign posted Wirksworth B5035. Follow these sign posts to Wirksworth/Carsington Water until you reach Kniveton village.
